Meet Evangelist Ruth C. Pryor
Evangelist, Wife, Mother, Mentor, Author
Evangelist Ruth C. Pryor is a God-fearing, faith-filled, anointed vessel of God who strives daily to exhibit the exemplary traits of a “virtuous woman”. A passionate educator, profound public speaker, and soul-stirring psalmist are just a few phrases that describe the special gifts and talents that God has graced her with. Aside from her ministry involvement and achievements, her greatest assertion is that her family and her faith are essential to her existence.
Evangelist Pryor was the loving wife of the late Bishop Marvin C. Pryor, Pastor of Victorious Believers Ministries Church of God in Christ (COGIC). Her fondest memories in life are 46½ years of marital bliss to the love of her life. This blessed union was ordained of God and together they raised four adult children and enjoyed sharing and doting on four precious grandchildren. Bishop & Evangelist Pryor served at VBM for over twenty-six (26) years as a model team in ministry, impacting the lives of thousands of people at home, nationally, and abroad. For thirty-two years, she served as the Director of the Women of Victory Department and visionary organizer of an interfaith Statewide Prayer Breakfast that has drawn thousands of attendees over the years. Her goal is to empower women to maximize their potential at home, church, work and the community.
Evangelist Pryor’s effervescent spirit is contagious. Her genuine love for people is evident wherever her feet trod. As a graduate of The University of Michigan and a former educator in the Flint Public School System, she continues to share her love for children and people from all walks of life. Today, she serves as the President of the Bishop Marvin C. Pryor Memorial Fund, a charity that reaches out to those in need in support of Education, Missions, and other humanitarian needs that were dear to the Bishop’s heart. She has traveled to Trinidad, the West Indies, and Africa on mission trips to train leaders, strengthen churches and
to build dormitories for the Royal Seed Orphanages in Ghana. She currently supports two orphans in Africa, which she and Bishop Pryor adopted in 2009. As a licensed evangelist missionary of forty years, she travels the nation teaching the Gospel at local churches, seminars, retreats, and state and national
conventions. She also uses her vocal gift of song to uplift the souls of listeners wherever she ministers.
In November 2015, Evangelist Pryor was bestowed the honor of receiving the “COGIC’s 150 Influential Women” Award by the Church of God in Christ Worldwide, headquartered in Memphis, TN. She now serves as one of the teachers for the National Titus 2 Prayer, appointed by the General Supervisor, Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis.
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee; because he trust in thee." Isaiah 26:3
Built to Last Legacy Edition - Paperback - $20
As we walk through this journey of life, there are many experiences we will encounter that will cause us to want to give up and not take another step.
Challenges are going to come, and they show up in many different forms. How does one deal with the devastating loss of a spouse, son, daughter, parent, divorce, job, and so much more? When life shifts you, pummels you, depletes you and knocks you down, what do you do? You must recognize that the important thing is not what has happened to you, but how you choose to respond.
When crises hit my life, I only had two options; give up or hold on. Giving up would have been so much easier. But I knew that if I decided to hold on, one day I would be able to tell others how I made it through. Was it easy? Not at all! Persevering through my trauma was excruciatingly painful. I battled through an immense amount of mental stress and depression. However, with the love and support of my family and friends, an undefeatable spirit and God's supernatural strength, I survived. It took resilience, fortitude and faith to move forward. Through the process, I discovered I had strength that I never realized I had. Little did I know that all of this was a part of my purpose and destiny in life. Now I have gained new hope and the blessed assurance that I am BUILT TO LAST!
